The Dream

As part of the 2025 Swaledale Festival

- Saturday 31st May 2025, 7.30pm

at St Andrew's Church, Aysgarth, North Yorkshire

An enchanting choral journey through the night in the company of this outstanding ensemble. The evening falls with Rodney Bennett’s A Good-Night; dark nightmares appear in Mäntyjärvi’s Four Shakespeare Songs; we dream in Laura Mvula’s Sing to the Moon; and finally we awake to the sun in Lili Boulanger’s Hymne au Soleil. Glorious!

Everyone Suddenly Burst Out Singing

Echoes of Joy and Remembrance from Sixty Years of Song

- Saturday 25th October 2025, 7.30pm

at Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York

As part of York Concerts

Jervaulx Singers are thrilled to join York's Chapter House Choir & Youth Choir in celebration of their 60th season with a special programme dedicated to remembrance.

This programme features Everyone Sang by acclaimed baritone and composer Roderick Williams — a lyrical work commissioned by the Chapter House Choir for our 50th anniversary. Written for three separate choirs, each group’s music works both independently of the other choirs and together, setting texts by Siegfried Sassoon (Everyone Sang), Laurence Binyon (For the Fallen), and the traditional Agnus Dei.

The programme also includes Footsteps by Owain Park, an award-winning composer and conductor. He writes, “Footsteps is the result of many months of researching texts to structure a narrative that cycles the seasons through the view of the lonely traveller who is constantly being moved on before being allowed to settle, finding comfort in the sky and stars above.”

Join us for a programme that brings together echoes of joy and remembrance from sixty years of song.
